ChangePoint staff, volunteers and contractors acknowledge and accept their responsibility to maintain high standards of professional and personal conduct.  ChangePoint is dedicated to promote care for our members in a safe environment by reducing the likelihood of adverse outcomes and controlling fraud, abuse and waste.

Healthcare fraud is an intentional deception or misrepresentation made by a person with the knowledge that the deception could result in an unauthorized benefit to themselves or others.  

Healthcare program abuse and waste is when practices are inconsistent with sound fiscal, business or medical practices and result in an unnecessary cost to the healthcare system.

Examples of healthcare fraud, abuse and waste include:

  • Using someone else’s medical insurance information to obtain services or medication;

  • Billing for a service that was not provided;

  • Over-billing for a service;

  • Providing a service that was not medically necessary;

  • Falsifying signatures or medical records;

  • Unethical personal, romantic, sexual or business relationships between ChangePoint staff and members.

If you are aware of or even suspect that fraud, abuse or waste involving a ChangePoint employee or member has occurred, we want you to notify us.  We will review your concerns and take appropriate action.
